| Paint over the cracks
the old saying goes and this is true as external decoration is
the first line of defence against the weather. Cracks in
external render allows the water into the brick work and remains
trapped until Winter arrives when the trapped water will freeze
and expand which, in turn, forces the render to crack even more
until large chunks begin to fall away. The wet brickwork behind the render can decay and the face of the brick will crumble making it difficult to repair - so remember - paint over the cracks or repair the render! |
